Marion Cotillard looked every inch the chique, ebullient, young French actress that she is when she won an Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role. I must admit that she is one my favourites ever since since played Fanny in the wine movie A Good Year alongside Russell Crowe. She won the Oscar for her performance as Edith Piaf (affectionately known as “the sparrow”) in La Vie en Rose and last year's Best Actor, Forest Whittaker, presented the award.
Her gown was absolutely stunning – it was the “Mermaid Dress” designed by Jean Paul Gaultier. Gaultier had showcased the dress in his Spring/Summer 2008 couture collection which had an “under the sea” theme and his designs have gone down a storm on the catwalks this season.
